Join UW NALSA for an important conversation about missing and murdered indigenous people with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Connie Walker and Assistant U.S. Attorney Bree Black Horse. The Outreach Committee has provided co-sponsorship to this event on Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women/People hosted by the UW Native American Law Student Association (NALSA). NALSA will host Native (Cree) journalist Connie Walker and Native (Seminole Nation)attorney Bree Black Horse to further the conversation about Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women/People (MMIW/MMIP).The purpose of the conversation is to raise awareness of MMIW/MMIP among those in the legal field and to identify ways individuals can use their position and privilege to advocate for MMIW/MMIP and other important Native issues that contribute to MMIW/MMIP. The lawyers, law students, and other audience members will learn how they can leverage their position(s) to advocate for MMIW/MMIP.
